14th August
Some more aerial pictures
as the weather has been kind for drone flying and you have to make the
most of that here in the isle of Man!! These were shot yesterday
morning flying from close to the old Tynwald site at Killabane, near to
St Luke's Church that sits on the ridge between the east and west Baldwin
valleys. A lovely spot but often too breezy for drone flying!
DJI Phantom 4 Pro 13/8/17
17th August
Some reasonably light
winds and sunshine this morning for a flight around Douglas Head and the
northern Marine Drive.
DJI Phantom 4 Pro

Curraghs Wildlife Park
A few pictures taken
yesterday evening at a special Members & Guests only evening opening.
One of the highlights for me was being able to access the walkway through
the Ring Tailed Lemur enclosure, which has been closed due to visitors
persistently feeding the lemurs, despite notices asking them not to as
some human foodstuffs are dangerous for the lemurs. Nikon D7100
18/8/17
On a walk out into the
Curragh we spotted one of the wild wallabies with two youngsters, although
I only managed to photograph one of them.

the Calf Sound yesterday morning - DJI Phantom 4 Pro 20/8/17
26th August

taken yesterday on a rather dull and cloudy afternoon, but I wanted to
try and capture the visiting cruise liner 'Rotterdam'
DJI Phantom 4 Pro

27th August
I was wanting to do
some test flying with my newly acquired DJI Spark mini drone. I would
normally have done this closer to home but due to the temporary airspace
restrictions in force for the Festival of Motorcycling had to go a bit
further afield so went to the old mines area in the hills above Foxdale,
where there is plenty of open space well away from the flying restrictions.
Beckwith's Mine
- DJI Spark 26/8/17
Practical flying endurance
of the Spark seems limited to around 10 minutes per battery so after my
test flights I switched over to the larger and more powerful Phantom 4,
which can achieve up to around 25 minites of practical flying per battery.
Beckwith's Mine
- DJI Phantom 4 Pro 26/8/17
Only a short distance
away from Beckwith's are the remains of two further mines in the Foxdale
complex, Cross Vein and Dixon's.
DJI Phantom 4 Pro 26/8/17
28th August
A couple more shots
taken yesterday evening with the DJI Spark. 27/8/17
30th August
More flight testing
with the DJI Spark minidrone yesterday afternoon near to Ballaragh.
29/8/17
Very dull and overcast
weather, all pictures were made from three original pictures combined using
'HDR'
31st August
Some more flight testing
with the DJI Spark yesterday morning, this time by Port Soderick.
30/8/17

month, again with the little DJI Spark drone, this time on a test flight
above Tholt-y-Will this afternoon. 31/8/17
