2nd November
A few Autumnal pictures at Cronkbourne this morning.  Panasonic TZ200  2/11/19

4th November
Some aerial photography in Sulby Glen, just downstream from Tholt-y-Will.  Here two tributary streams join the Sulby River, one from the west side via a high waterfall and one from the east through a steep sided valley.  Not much water comes in via the east stream now, as it is dammed higher up to form the Block Eary Reservoir and water is diverted from there by pipe to feed the hydro electric power station in the valley.  By the time I did the flights, the sun had long since set in the valley, which probably only gets a few hours direct illumination each day at this time of year.

9th November
Some aerial pictures at Snaefell summit yesterday afternoon, not long before sunset.  The trams have stopped running for the winter, so a hike up from Bungalow was required!  I was originally planning to do some more Sulby Glen aerial pictures, but the light winds and better illumination made Snaefell more attractive.  The colours have changed from the greens of my September visit, to the browns of winter.

14th November
Some pictures taken on a walk through the Ballaugh Curragh wetlands area, which was indeed very wet!  Panasonic TZ200  10/11/19

On the way back home via the Druidale Road and stopping for some pictures of a snow capped Snaefell.  Light levels were getting low and these pictures are 'HDR' photographs each combined from five original camera shots with varying exposure.  Panasonic TZ200  10/11/19

A final stop on the way home to observe this amazing collection of Rooks wheeling around at dusk close to Algare Farm in Baldwin.  I couldn't even start to guess as to how many there were here, but the collective noun 'A Clamour of Rooks' was very appropriate!  Panasonic TZ200 10/11/19

15th November
Four views from my window.  Panasonic TZ200  13/11/19

16th November
Another visit to Ballaugh Curragh, on Thursday afternoon.  Walking on (and off!) some of the paths that have been produced through this fascinating wetland area.  Water levels are high at the moment after a lot of rain in recent weeks.  The first picture was take on the way there, at Guthrie's on the Mountain Road.   Nikon D7100 14/11/19

A few pictures of the non native residents of Ballaugh Curragh.

Some ground level and aerial pictures taken yesterday morning at Cronk-ny-Arrey-Laa.  Panasonic TZ200 & DJI Spark  17/11/19

19th November
A location that I had long wanted to photograph from the air, South Barrule.  The hill rises to 1,585 ft above sea level, but the climb up from the nearest road is only around 500 ft.  The hilltop was the site of an Iron Age hill fort, dating from around 500 BC.  From ground level the size of the fort is not particularly apparent, but from the air you can easily see the line of the stone rampart that enclosed the settlement.  The predominantly brown colours in the photographs are from the heather that covers the hillside.  In summer this is green, turning to purple as the heather flowers around August, but has now died back for winter.  More information on the site is available from Culture Vannin.

20th November
The weather was so great on Monday that we went for a 'stroll around' at Peel in the afternoon.  I quick walk up the first part of Peel Hill for some photos of the Castle ended up with a walk to Corrin's Tower and a bit further to return on the westerly path.  With the short daylight hours at the moment it was dark when we arrived back at the car in Fenella Beach car park.  Beautiful light though and I took loads of pictures, so here are some of them.

22nd November
A few pictures taken today in the Injebreck area of the West Baldwin valley.  Nikon D7100  22/11/19

24rd November
A trip yesterday morning back to the waterfall at Injebreck in the hope that overnight rains had increased the water flow over it.  It was a bit bigger than the previous day, but I suspect that forestry operations on the hills above may have changed the rate at which water drains into the river, resulting in a larger peak flow but over a shorter time scale than used to be the case.  After the waterfall I took a a walk into the area above, where plantation fellings have opened up some now views, although new tree plantings will probably take them away again in a few years.  Nikon D7100  23/11/19

28th November
After days of breezy and rainy conditions, yesterday morning was calm and sunny, so I took the opportunity for some aerial photography, initially from Douglas Head to look at the town and coastline.  DJI Phantom 4 Pro  27/11/19

Returning to sea level to watch the 'Stolt Cormorant' enter harbour.  Panasonic TZ200
