Yesterday afternoon's
trip down to Ronaldsway was more intended for taking aircraft pictures,
but I did have a quick visit down to the shoreline of Castletown Bay to
take some more general pictures between aircraft movements. Panasonic

8th January
From the start of yesterday,
Thursday 7th, the Isle of Man entered another Covid-19 lockdown period,
initially scheduled to last for three weeks. Obviously this is going
to curtail my picture taking opportunities, so I'm starting a project that
I've wanted to do for quite some time, scanning in photo prints and slides.
The Island Images website only started when I moved to digital photography
in 2000, so this is a chance to show some of my earlier pictures dating
from when I moved to the island in 1990. There will be no particular
order to the photos as I don't have dates for them, I'm putting them in
a separate '1990s' gallery but new additions will always be notified on
these monthly pages. Starting with some snow scenes, there are ten
new pictures in 1990s Gallery One.

A selection of pictures
take on a walk in the hills above Injebreck yesterday afternoon.
It's a nice circular route, starting and finishing close to Injebreck Reservoir
and with a climb and descent of around 790 ft according to my GPS tracker.

bright and calm, if a little on the chilly side with temperatures only
just above freezing. I decided to go on a 'lockdown walk' starting

A walk in the hills
yesterday afternoon, starting and finishing near Brandywell Cottage and
walking as far as the summit of Slieau Curn. I only saw one other
person on the whole walk and he was exercising on a trail motorcycle!

Just one new 'current'
picture this morning, taken from my window at home yesterday evening, about
30 minutes after sunset but while there were still
some lovely colours
in the sky. The view is looking south west towards South Barrule
and was taken on my phone camera. I'm shortly going to work on some
more 1990s pictures but I'm getting towards the end of those, with just

More pictures! I went
for a short walk this afternoon from Keristal down to Port Soderick and
back again. The wind was still strong after recent gales and on the
