I've been working on
a special section for the website over the past month or so, looking at
the scenic Marine Drive and the electric tramway that operated along it
from 1896 until 1939. It was inspired after being asked to supply
a picture for inclusion in an animation project by Stuart Green.
I've used old pictures of the tramway with modern day equivalent views,
followed by a selection of modern aerial pictures following the drive from
Douglas Head to Port Soderick and back.

We don't actually have a dog but are looking after Star for her owners

taken on two visits on successive days to Archallagan Plantation, mainly
for dog walking purposes, but it is a great place to walk, with very much

I was in the Andreas
area yesterday morning to take some aerial shots for a separate purpose,
but I thought that I'd update my ones of the church and its surroundings

Some aerial shots at
the Laxey Valley Gardens on Saturday morning. I'd attempted these
shots in July last year but hadn't been able to get the lower level ones
due to other people using the park that I didn't want to disturb.
This time although I did have to wait for a while before flying as people
passed through I was then able to get the shots I wanted, although I would

We've been visiting
Archallagan Plantation quite a lot recently, as it's ideal for Star to
rush around in the trees chasing her ball. On Sunday afternoon the
winds were fairly light, so I took the Mini 2 drone along to get some aerial
shots of the man made lake in the middle of the plantation.

As mentioned, we've
been visiting Archallagan Plantation on a regular basis to let Star run
around there, but Tuesday's visit was a little different. A weather
front had passed through with heavy rain, so we delayed our visit until
later, when the rain had stopped but low cloud still enveloped the hill
that the plantation sits on.
