208 Sqn Hawk T1 XX217. This aircraft diverted into Ronaldsway on the 4th
September 2006 with a 'Mayday' after a birdstrike to the north of the island.
At one point it seemed likely the the pilot was going to have to eject
from the aircraft but just managed to make Ronaldsway before the engine
failed completely. It is seen here on a taxiway with a substantial fuel
leak, hence the sand underneath. It was subsequently dismantled and removed
by road.
