Where is the Isle of Man?

The Isle of Man lies in the Irish Sea, between England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. It is 32 miles long from north to south and 13 miles wide from west to East, and has a population of just over 70,000.



 
Originally populated by the Celtic people the island was subsequently invaded and settled by the Vikings, who gave us the forerunner of our present day parliament.

The island is a Crown Dependancy and not part of the United Kingdom. Tynwald, the island's parliament is over 1000 years old and consists of two houses, The House of Keys, popularly elected every 5 years and the upper chamber, the Legislative Council.
