Island Images - The Isle of Man in Pictures

On the right hand pillar is a commemorative plaque with some information on H.M.S Urley.  The base opened in June 1944 and had around 120 based aircraft, mostly Fairey Barracuda's but with the end of WW2 had completely closed by January 1946.
