Continuing further
along the road towards the quarry, passing what is, to me, the most intriguing
set of remaining buildings, the Royal Navy radar site. Surveillance radar
was almost unknown at military airfields during WW2, but there was one
here, possibly using an RAF Type 15 GCI radar.
