Island Images - The Isle of Man in Pictures
The statue of Sir William Hillary on Douglas Head.  He founded the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in 1824 and had the Tower of Refuge constructed in 1832.  In 1830, at the age of 60, he commanded the lifeboat that rescued all crew members from the 'St George' which was aground on the Conister Rock.
